beginning fretless

  1. Hey all,

I'm a fairly experienced classically-trained upright player wanting to a make a foray into the world of electric. I've played around on fretted basses, but I'd like to give fretless a try. I'm not, at this point, really concerned about joining a band or getting gigs. I just want to play around, so there will be no need to spend lots of $$. Keeping that in mind, what fretless basses and amp combos are good for someone with a small budget? I'd rather go with used equipment.

    Thanks,

    Chris Dove

    Boom Bass Cabinets, DR strings
A new MTD Kingston fretless or Cort Artisan fretless

A used or new Ampeg B-100R combo. Sound great with fretless.

Dean Rhapsody fretless is a good, and not too expensive fretless, also. :)
