The Behringer is obviously a copy of the SABDDI. I have the Behringer at the moment, and I've had the SABDDI at various times in the past. I would like to know, from those who've tried both, how close the sound between the two pedals is. I'm not super impressed with the Behringer. I've been thinking about getting another SABDDI, but if the Behringer sounds close enough, I probably won't, since I like my Battalion a lot better than the Behringer.

I haven't had the Behringer, but it looks cheap and plastic to me. I have had several pieces behringer equipment, but I find their pedals to have weak jacks. I am sure it sounds fine though.

If I could offer another, perhaps cheaper pedal, one that I do have... check out the Caline Wine Cellar for about $35-40 on ebay. I have this and their acoustic DI, and they both work great.

I have been using a Behringer ADI21 for years with my ABG with 0 issues, plastic box and all. As long as it is an always on effect and not a "STOMP" box they do fine. FWIW my plastic Zoom pedals did fine for years until other miscreants damaged them, much to their bad experience.

I’ve just been through this myself. I gigged with a Behringer BDI21 for years as my only pedal. It always did the trick. I always kept it clean because I didn’t like the sound with the drive cranked. I was happy enough with it.

But.. I recently picked up a Sansamp BDDI v2 on a good deal. It sounds so much better to me. One reason is the added mid control (only on v2). I also find the drive is less harsh and sounds more natural. On the Sansamp you can use the full range of the drive knob, from zero to full, and get super clean right up to thick distortion. On the Behringer I’ve found the drive has to stay 10-12 o’clock.

The Sansamp is better built. Better range on the controls. Less noisy. Is it worth 7-8x the price of the Behringer? For me it is since I will be gigging every weekend with it. Really happy I upgraded to the real thing but still, for the price you cannot beat the Behringer.

If you're still thinking of upgrading to the Sansamp, I'll buy your BDI21 off of you :)
