I'm think of picking up this:

Basically I want to use it as a practice headphone "amp" until I can afford the Sadowsky Pre/DI. I have a little one at home now and practicing through the main rig just isn't going to happen. I figured I could pick this up (retail $20) and basically use it until I saved up some cash for the Sadowsky. My plan is to go direct into it, use one headphone jack for headphones, one for a tuner out, and possibly another to go to my amp, and the 4th to go into my PC for recording.

Does anyone use these, or see me having a problem with this? My current bass is an SR400 with replaced pickups - Seymour Duncan QP's - so it's passive now with no pre. Will this amp be able to boost the signal to a listenable level or am going to have to wait to get the Sadowsky? Thanks for your help!

Not really, it takes a stereo input at line level. Just plugging in your bass wouldn't work so good.

A little mini mixer would do it, then you could mix mp3 player along with yourself.

It's always handy to have a little mixer around.

    Ok thanks.

Would you recommend the XENYX 502 or are there better ones out there?
