Does anyone have one, or played thru one and could you share your comments? i might buy one soon. if i was to do so, where should i put it in my rack, in the effects loop of my Ampeg SVP-PRO or right after it in XLR? Thanks in advance.
hehe, well someone seems a little biased against the Behringer I am researching this item on my own. I've only read reviews about how good and bad dbx compared to how good Behringer is. People seem to like the Behringer more for bass than the dbx. Ppl say the dbx distorted sound on low strings (B and F#) and the compressor failed on the low strings as well. Not very good. I'm left with the option of Behringer. Since then, I've read reviews from Harmonycentral.com to BGRA.net to many other places. The Behringer is a favorite compressor/expander/limiter/gate for bass. What now!!!
The 160A is the best compressor for bass out there, IMHO, but the 166XL is more comparable to the MDX2200 in terms of price.
I stand by my 160A recommendation. This guy is getting MAD gear, so Im sure he can afford another hundred or so dollars for a great compressor like the dbx 160A.
dbx is not better than Behringer. It's just that people think compressor = dbx. I compared Alesis, ART and Behringer - I'm a Behringer owner now...
