How many people are lefties, and of those, who actually plays left handed?

I'm a lefty, but I play righty cuz its ALOT easier to find a right handed bass. (and it never really crossed my mind to look for a lefty bass when I was learning)

  2. lefty, plays righty. can also play lefty with only mild difficulty.

There's a very talented bass player named Jimmy Allen, curently working in Vegas who plays a right handed fretted bass righthanded and plays a left handed fretless lefthanded, grooves, solo's and all.

my mentality was such... when i started, i sucked whether i played lefty or righty... so i might as well save myself the cash in the future and learn to play right-handed, even though i'm left handed for almost everything else.

I am lefty playing righty. I have no major difficulties, except for slapping. I can slap faster with my left. That's ok though because I am not some slap-happy crap bass player. They annoy me. They also sound like crap IMO.
