black frets from fret 1-12, and black fretlines the same thickness as the black frets on 13 and up.

[edit] forgot to say how insanely sweet that ebony is! mmmmmmmmm!

    Whoah Adrian!

Stunning tops. Those basses look so hot that they could get an old school double cut-away guy like me go for the single cut-away!

I'm not a fretless player so my opinion may not count, but I think that I'm gonna agree with you on going fretless.

    Stunning!

Chris does amazing things to wood!!!

I'd say do the black lines on the ebony... ghost lines like that disappear at a distance yet let the player cheat a little ;)

Adrian, How much play time will you give a fretless? Either way it's a beautiful top/board!

Definately fretless with black lines. Mine work really well:D

    Beautiful tops by the way:bassist:

(sorry about the name typo... my buddy spells it with the 'e')

Being store stock, as tough the lined fretless would be, I think you could move it fretted easier
    {but I really don't know the market, I just don't need the temptation of that being a fretless ;)}

"Lawyer's voice"--So what you are saying Mr. Garcia is that these instruments, if so desired by the defendent, could very well be used by the store owner at any time.:D

Sweet basses! That Mac one is amazing! If these aren't for you, I'd say go with frets, but a black lined fretless would be nice as well.

    Adrian, They are real beauties!
I vote for fretted. Here is my Benavente SC5.
I am really enjoying it. I thought I was
a diehard double cut guy too. But I am really
    lovin this single cut.

I think its just a joke!

Porn meaning to excite you with unfinished/naked beautiful basses. Their exotic, Adrian isn't trying to offend anyone.

    I vote FRETLESS!!!

is there no way frets can be made black, even if worn down?

only if you used a composite material. then, you'd be affecting tone.

most metals are silverish in color. any coloring affects the metal only to a certain depth.

anodize, powdercoat, black chrome, etc. would all wear through eventually.
