If you crave the aggressive tone and growl which Wenge produces then you will love this bass. The chambering with the signature Benavente sound holes provide more air to the resonance, mildly tempering the Wenge growl and attack. Very unique flavor tonewise. Very versatile electronics. You can support the band with a soft full sound or you can “Drive the Buss” with a twist of a dial. I play and collect basses as a hobby so no gigging issues. No Dents, Scratches, etc. “Beautiful Custom Abalone Inlays” Installed by a Luthier, dressed and professionally set up with new LaBella Rx Strings. See the detailed pics of this work! The LaBella strings really work with this bass. The bass plays smooth and fast. Little to no fret ware. Neck is fast, straight and super stable! ◦ Wenge Chambered body with Wenge top. ◦ Wenge finger board ◦ Wenge with Wenge multi pc neck sandwiched between maple stringers (11 PIECES). ◦ Wenge Matching pickup covers and knobs. ◦ GROWLY BIG TONE- Active or Passive ◦ Beautiful, one of a kind bass. ◦ 34.5" scale ◦ 19 mm string spacing at bridge Stunningly beautiful and rock solid construction. As I understand it, Chris Benavente built this bass for the 2006 NAMM and sold it thru Low End Bass. Chris makes fantastic basses. Only selling this bass to fund a Fretless (first time player). Sell $2500 OBO Trades for a higher end Fretless 5 (Roscoe, ZON, Smith or equivalent)
Wow, that is a gorgeous bass, I am interested. I was wondering if you could give me more info on the tech specs. Electronics, p/u's, control panel, it's active/passive with a pull? Also what is the weight of the bass? Thank you. Oh, where re you in Jersey? I;m in NY myself. thank you! ken Thanks for your reply. I live in Cherry Hill, NJ I never was able to find anything out from Chris in terms of technical specs. He never returned my email inquiries. I know it has Benavente wide pickups which at the time were being made by Kent Armstrong. It is either an Aguilar 3 band preamp or a Benavente 3 way preamp but the way to tell for sure is to remove the cover plate in the back and look at the labeling on the pre-amp. I have not done this. Remember I am an amateur bass player who collects nice basses. I believe the control knobs are: Top-Volume closest to the neck bridge (Push/Pull active passive) Pickup Pan Second Row treble, mid and bass The weight is 11.6 lbs (all wenge bass) Hope this helps
