Yeah- not that $3500 isn't a fair price for the bass, but it's been a buyer's market for a while now, and things just don't sell to their value. Not to mention that a seven-string buckeye singlecut is a bass that has only a small number of potential buyers. I'd love it myself- Benaventes have always been at the top of my list for basses to try.
My, my, my, isn't that a beauty But I agree with Geoff, the seller is going to be hard pressed to get that much for it. Not that it isn't worth it, but the reality of the boutique-bass market is that there is a serious drop in value for a used instrument. The minute I'm looking at spending over $3K for a bass, I'd want it to be built to my specs. I do wish him luck, though. It's a fantastic looking bass .....
Nice bass! Maybe the seller should try to consign it to music store where it would be visible and playable if he doesn't get any serious offers on ebay.
Do you think it would be that hard to change it from F#, B, E, A, D, G, C...to B, E, A, D, G, C, F? What does something like that involve?
Brian has a SCD 7 demo used for the same price that guy is asking. Not quite as eye-catching wood, but definetly nice.
