I know most are familiar with Benny through his work with Santana and Miles...anyone check out his work with Marc Russo (and Will Kennedy) on Marc's only solo CD, "The Window"?

...& wasn't Benny born in The Netherlands?

    Brad-
How is that Russo record? I kinda recall seeing it.

(FWIW, I was happy when The 'Jackets got Mintzer).

I like the CD. I'd buy it again. I like Mintzer too but I also like Russo who isn't a jazzer. I got to see him live with the Jackets a few years back in a very small setting and between him and Will Kennedy (and Jimmy and Russell) it was one of the best "Progressive Jazz" shows I'd seen.

On Marc's CD Benny is doing some pretty cool stuff with lots of fun time signature. He and Kennedy are on the same page.

Bear in mind I also liked Jimmy's first solo project which a lot of people didn't.

I like Benny well enough, especially on Miles: Live Around the World
