Anyone compare the two? I have an AE112, but have now settled on my SHuttle 6 + NeoX-212T as my live rig. My practice rig is the AE112 + MB2-500. I'd ditch the practice rig if I thought the GenzBenz 12" that comes with the Shuttle series could cut it. Then I can just pull the Shuttle head out and do the slide in cab thing.

I know it's a long shot, but has anyone had both for a time?

synterx you are a man after my own heart - you're as obsessed with tone as I :help: :bag:

I can only help you slightly here. I compared the STL-6.0-12T combo with a shuttle 6.0 and Epifani UL2-112 last week. I know you are quite familiar with the difference between the Epi and the Berg so maybe you can infer from here...

I found the shuttle cab to sound very impressive and initially I liked it better than the Epi. The more I played the Epi, the more obvious it became that it had:
    1) a better B string response at all volumes (the shuttle cab got "boxey" sounding as it was cranked)
    2) a better tweeter (it was controllable and just sounded *really* smooth to me - probably the best tweeter I've heard)
    3) a bit more volume
    4) much more body to the tone and was more transparent
    5) a better ability to handle whatever tone I threw at it

Overall I liked the Epi better and have one on the way :) The Epi sounded like a great match for the head whereas the shuttle cab sounded like a compromise voiced to take advantage of the smaller size and weight.

The shuttle combo however, is hands down the best combo for weight/tone/volume I've tried... so it ain't no slouch either.

That's what I thought. BTW, I just returned two UL2-112 to Music123.com, as Blems, they were 100% perfect, I just had to thin the herd. You will see them within a week I'm guessing. I paid $424 for one, and $445 shipped for the two, with full warranty of course. Just a heads up if anyone reading this wants a decent deal on them. The Epis are great cabinets, I just had to choose between what I had and what I need.

It looks like I will keep the AE112. I will probably sell off the GK MB2-500 since I need money more than I need 2 bass heads.

    Thanks for the insights.

Thanks for the heads up and those are *great* prices. Unfortunately I'm already committed to a sale from a fellow TB'er so I won't take advantage of them.

Does this imply you like the shuttle more than the MB2-500? I may have missed a thread from you but I don't recall seeing your decision.
