Based on the recommendation of one of our brethren from a different thread I checked out Bergantino's website re their NV115. Looks very interesting (read: I'd really, really like to have one). Problem is that it's an 8 ohm cabinet and my Ampeg SVT Heritage allows only 4 ohm and 2 ohm set-ups. The emailed response from Jim Bergantino is that the cabinet is only available as an 8 ohm. Anybody have any suggestions as to a great 1X15 cab (especially if it has a midrange horn like that NV115) that'll work with my Ampeg? Oh, and, no, buying two is not an option.
Audiokinesis, Hathor 1533 or 1505. Switchable between 4 and 8 ohms. That's soon going to be my choice.
+1 on 2xNV115's. Now you have your 4 ohms, and 2 midrange drivers vs 1. Get a Forte when you want to do smaller gigs and lug only 1 cab out. Man it's easy for me to spend others' money!
If you really want the NV115, and it has to be only one, then Glockenklang's impedance transformer will solve your problem. Products - GLOCKENKLANG
