I picked up one of these as well as a Ceruti model from him at the 2005 winter NAMM show. I was quite impressed with both of them.
The one that you are looking at is probably just as great.

    Good luck!

Strangely enough, I live in Atlanta and I purchased a 2004 Heinrich Gill Grancino Copy. I absolutely love the bass and it has already appreciated 2k. It is extremely responsive, crystal clear sound, and excellent playability. Which dealer are you looking at?

  5. Bernd Dimbath is a real person, not a trade name. Gill is a trade name.

The distributor for Gill violins here in the USA does not offer basses. Bernd Dimbath is a good maker although I doubt he actually makes the bass himself. They make very nice German violins, the wood is great and they are very consistent.

edit: It looks like Steve Swan is able to get Gill basses, sorry for the confusion.
