Is this a real color for stingrays? I may buy one at Guitar Center used but never saw the color. Wanna make sure I'm not gonna buy a refin.

At $790 does it really matter if it is a refin? You will surely be able to sell it for that when/if your done, and now that TB knows about it it probably won't last long.

For what its worth the colour looks familiar to me but not as that name, it looks like a burst to me, cannot remember proper name. Although the pic is pretty low quality.

On the other hand, on all the googling I did, they only "Berry burst sparkle" Stingray I saw was this one.

True. And if it flies, I'm good with that. Just curious.

GC never rarely knows what a finish is actually called. After a quick serch on the EBMM forum, it looks like it's possibly Burnt Apple.

Very true. Berry burst sounds ALOT like a color Ibanez put out a few years ago. After a month at GC, every guitar and bass looks the same. Probably just called it Berryburst because he couldn't think of any other color.

Very nice, there is a definite purple in that burst, you couldn't see that on GCs site.

More importantly, how does it play? Are the electronics quiet? I find Stingrays are hit or miss in regards to hum. I had to do some extensive shielding to mine.

You better hope it is not a refin if you post in the EB forums... they hate mods... hardcore bunch of fanboys over there.

  17. I own several and have owned a few previous. Never had a problem with hum on a Stingray or Sterling. Though my other basses (Ovation Magnum?) him like crazy so I may be more tolerant of a wittle noise than you.

My SR5's have all (9) been dead quiet. The quietest basses I've ever played in my 30+ years of gigging.
