Best 410 cabinet for the money?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Fingerman, Sep 9, 2002.

  1. I love the Eden products but up here in the great white north a 410 xlt goes for $1400-$1500,the Ampeg 410 hlf is about $900 and Peavey and Yorkville run $650-$800,I will be running my GK 800 full power so ideally I would like a 4 ohm cab to get the 300 watts. Thanks.

talk to dave at avatar speakers... no speakon for best GK running though. (you could put one in yourself)
  3. You can get a used SWR Goliath III for around $550 US. You can get a used Eden D410XLT for about $100 more. Go used and upgrade on quality, reliability, reputation.

Unless you go with Avatar I recommend Peavey, they make really good 4x10 cabs. Being you have a GK you might wanna look into the 410RBS.
  5. I have the Ampeg 410hlf, and I love it. It seems to have alot of bottom end for a 4 x 10.
  6. ndjx, I have GK speakers now a 115 EV and a 212 they both suck and have tried other GK cabs, sorry just not impressed with there speaker product so far I am leaning to an Ampeg 410 hlf ,thanks

out of the ones you mention above, i'd go for the Ampeg 410HLF.
Thats if you can lug it about that is!!

  8. I was intent on buying an Avatar 4x10 and 1x15, but I found a steal on the Ampeg. One thing to remember the Ampeg is 4 ohms so if you would ever need another extension cab make sure your head could handle the load. But with that said after owning the 410hlf I don't think I would ever need any more volume or a 1 x 15 extension.

I've had an Aguilar 4x10 for about a year, its tremendous, and very reasonably priced for such a high-end cabinet - don't let the list price fool you. Very similar sounding to the Eden's, but just a tad smoother.
  12. The Ampeg SVT 410HLF. As I keep saying, it's the best sounding cab I've heard. You can get them used for around half the price of a new one.
