    What are your favorites?

I kinda want a P-bass style body, but I can be flexible. I just want a classic look, but with modern electronics.

I'm totally Gassing, but I want to make the right choice. P/J pups please. Pics will help a lot.

    Thanks, everyone. :help:

Definitely Sadowsky pickups, pre, and VTC...add body and neck of your choice, Warmoth, etc....bass heaven....or save a little longer and buy a new or used Sadowsky! Go to Fendowsky club thread and look at what Exaltbass did to his Fender....

I think the new Yamaha highend BB series will be great basses. The initial reports are all very impressive.

It certainly is a beauty. If I wanted a Jazz body, I'd all over it. Hell, I still might make him an offer. :)

  12. If you can find one, Fender made an American Deluxe 5-string P bass a few years ago that was the bee's knees. I still want one but they are kinda hard to find. It's technically got a humbucker in the bridge position but I'm pretty sure you can split the coil. Man, I want one so bad...........:crying:

That one is the bass that sparked the Gas to begin with. Perfection!

  14. They were/are incredible instruments. And to think that I played one at a shop a few years ago and it sounded KILLER. I went back a few days later with intention to buy it but they had sold it already. Now I have to lurk Ebay and the classifieds trying to find one used.

Well, then, I think that is the one you should get. There is an olympic white/tort one in the classifieds right now priced under your listed price range.

Otherwise, I would go Valenti. He can build it exaclty to your spec, scale length, electronics, etc. Never hurts to support an awesome TBer.
