What's your opinion? What's best, and why?
Aren't there only a couple? Ampeg's is meh. Berg is rad. Don't know about any others.
Berg NV610 is all I could ever want. More compact than an 810 but the same vibe. Easy to move and load-in/out because it's tall enough to tip and lift from one end.
Sounds amazing when pushed hard- (master wide open and gain around 9.30/10 o'clock on my heritage SVT) Can't recommend it enough.
I don't know. I was thinking if tracking down a Berg, but was curious if there was anything better.
I’ve only played through 2. Actual gigs. Mesa Powerhouse and a MarkBass 106HF. Both were nothing short of amazing.
Loving my Bearfaced. Super light, super loud, superior sound dispersion, built in wheels for easy rolling. Very satisfied.
Barefaced Bass - Six 10
I am a shameless SWR fan, but the Goliath Senior has a viable claim to best mainstream 6x10 that was made.
Ampeg 610hlf is a very good cabinet as well. Has an 810 vibe but with additional lows. I find the additional lows really fill out the mix especially outdoor shows. Newer models 2008 and on are a bit brighter in tone compared to SLM era cabs bit darker. Another + is that Ampeg 610’s are readily available used for half the price of probably every other 610 out there. I just picked up an SLM era for $320...can’t beat that! Good luck on finding whatever cab fits your needs the best.
During the period when I was using a 610 cab, I bought a Genz-Benz 610T-XB-2 which was a natural match to use with my GBE1200 at the time. Ultimately I sold it and bought a GB Uber 810.
You might give the EBS Proline 610 a look.

I played through the Powerhouse 610 a while ago, it sounds amazing. Far better than the ampeg. I used to own the ampeg. Haven't played any others though.
If you can find one the Ashdown USA 610 is by far the best sounding cab I’ve owned. I toured with one for about 7 years. They didn’t make too many though and they were the first ones made in the USA....so tough to find.
Another vote for Bergantino. Que Bella!!
I've never owned a 610 but played an Ampeg SVT 610 backline a few times and it sounded really good. If I was going to buy a 610 that's what I'd get.
I love my ampeg 610 hlf It moves serious air.
I’ll be buried with my Berg NV610. Anything else sounds like a child’s toy when compared.
My nod goes to Barefaced, simply stunning. Mine is a 410+210, I have no doubt the 610 is just as great.

Love Me Some Berg
I've got a Berg NV610 that I mostly run with a Reeves225, sounds to me like bass amplification is meant to.
My neighbor is not the biggest fan however... even at normal (i.e. three piece rock band practice) it rattles stuff off his walls.
If I run across a clean, all-original working one at a great price, it's mine.
