Best Album of 2003

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by soundoholic, Jan 11, 2004.

  1. Very simple. What was the best album of 2003 in your opinion.

Mine would be the new Audioslave album.

Gallien Krueger for the last 12 years!
My 2 would be QOTSA and Justin Timberlake's. Hey, sue me, I liked it!

I think this has been done, but hey, I'm up for another round (found some more).

    My votes go to:

Mars Volta - DeLoused in the Commatorium
Normal Like You - Your Reminder (demo CD thingy)
The Matches - E. Vohn Dahl Killed the Locals (getting rereleased on Epitaph in April)
Alfred Howard and the Q23 Orchaestra - Kudra
  5. That would come in second on my list, great album (I got it of course being a big RATM fan) but I would say the new Dream Theater album would be the best of 2003 IMO.

I got the new Dream Theater album the day it came out, but I've lost a ton of faith in that band. I can't stand their last two records.

I really liked the new Weakerthans album. Either that or The Queens of the Stoneage's newest would get my vote.

Edit: Now that I think of it, I also was diggin' the new Outkast album.

IMO Neal Morse's Testimony was the best album of 2003.
  9. Fu-Manchu's go for it live
    mars volta deloused
    metallica - st. anger
rage against the machine - live at the grand olympic
iron giant - no longer sleeping
  10. qotsa please

Allman Brothers Band - Hittin the Note
Definitely my top album of '03. Then, to round it out, in no order, would be:
Thrice - Artist and the Ambulance
    Audioslave - S/T
    AFI - Sing the Sorrow
My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves
  12. UGG, you guys like audioslave ? Rage kicked some booty but audioslave is terrible. Tim commerford stoped playing killer riffs and that stupid singer trys to sound cool.

Triumph the insult comic dog's cd was the best of 2003 :D

I really liked Audioslave. Some songs I've got to admit were stinkers (I am the Highway), but overall I thought it was an advancement for Tom and Tim . In RATM they would play killer riffs in every song but with Audioslave they got much more intelligent.

I forgot about that album! I don't own it, but I have borrowed it from my drummer a couple of times. Excellent stuff.

I once had impure thoughts. Oh, and I pluck my ear hair.
Mars Volta's Deloused is one of the better ones, but I have to go with moe.'s "Wormwood".
  16. JMX

I may have to second that. At least I don't know any other 3CD-album(!) with a similar quality standard.

I think I'd put Opeth's Damnation in the #1 slot.
  17. The Mars Volta - Deloused
  18. Easy..

Biffy Clyro - Vertigo of Bliss

Nuff said..ones of the best bands around..!!..
  19. The Darkness, obviously :D
