Well IMO the best album of 2003 is Dream Theater's Train of Thought. I also really liked A Perfect Circle's The Thirteenth Step. Can't tell you any others off the top of my head.:D

Another vote for Mars Volta. I haven't heard anything that good in a long time.

Edit: I'd also like to add Normal Like You's "Your Reminder" CD/Demo/whatever. Even though I'm sure almost none of you guys have heard it, it's amazing. If you ever get the chance to see them and like punk/emo/screamo/"riffage", check them out.

  10. Five good albums, some of them Swedish, in no particular order:

Yo La Tengo: "Summer Sun" - I'm looking forward to heaing their recently released "Today is the Day" as well...

Britta Phillips & Dean Wareham: "L'Avventura" - much better than the latest Luna record, if you ask me.

    Cat Power: "You Are Free"

    Komeda: "Kokomemedada"

    Broder Daniel: "Cruel Town"

Marcus Miller - Ozell Tapes: The Official Bootleg

    Aesop Rock: Labor Days

    The rest:

    Lungfish: Love is Love
Against Me: Reinventing Axl Rose (technically 2002...but it's close enough)
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists: Hearts of Oak
The Slackers: Close My Eyes (A damn solid album)

And another vote for Mars Volta,
