Best analog synth?

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by Guinea Pig, Dec 14, 2005.

  1. anyone know a good analog synth pedal? Money is no issue. I'm looking for a striaght forward synth pedal, nothing too fancy. I hear the maxon autofilter is good, do you people who have purchased or tried out that specific pedal to be any good and useful in a jazz/funk setting?

    Thanks

  2. If you want analog then the way to go is with the EHX BassMicroSynth. It tracks well and has all the parameters needed to get a lot of variation in sounds. If you can get lucky enough to find a Korg G-5 or an Akai Deep Impact get one cuz they are wonderful and you can store your sounds. Envelope followers or auto filters are only a small part of the synth sound. Other parts include octave tones, fuzz tones, attack, resonance, cut off, decay and sustain levels.
