There are some great demo videos out there, some are official, some are not, but if there's going to be a "worst bass demos ever!" thread may there be a best bass demos thread, too.

Here is my offering (which reminds of old cop shows from the 70's). Dude has really great style and technique:

I think that Ed Friedland did a good job with his "Bass Whisperer" demos.

His reviews are consistently excellent. Oh, yes, I see, he's the bass whisperer. His videos are great, though they could benefit from better sound and video.

Guitarbank on Youtube has a bunch of awesome demos:

Google Johnny Lee Long. If you can get past the silly banter, he demos the heck out of the basses he owns or comes across in his Hobo Shop.

  9. All demos by Indra Putranto are excellent. No talking just playing.

I thought the sound on these were excellent. The samples were always miced, and he usually told you what his signal chain was. And there was a clear delineation between his vocals and the Bass demos. No sudden volume shifts, or echoey room artifacts. What didn't you like about them?

    Nice topic!

This is my best one. For Mesa Boogie amps. These guys play so funky and seem to have a great time. Like their basses too!

The 3:43 mark here tipped me into "buy" mode for the Darkglass 900. There's a few other decent moments in the demo.

  16. He's riffing on Hicky Burr, a Quincy Jones piece that was used as the theme song for the old Bill Cosby show.

That great bass player in the EBMM video appears to be Zev Katz who has played for nearly everyone, including Carole King's live show at Hyde Park. A fantastic player for many years.

    I'm partial to this one.

Try listening without watching and see if you can pick out one model from another. Harder than you think!
