Hi, Im a young bassist from Mexico and so my choices for a bass are limited, ive got around 400 to spend and im looking for a bass, im going to the us soon to look at some other basses. My current pick available in Mexico is the Ibanez SRX500, Id like to get a 5 string but if im okay with a good 4-string. ......... bottom line.... Which basses around 400 do you think i should check out while in the US????? ............

I could sell you my SR505 for about $300. It's an older version, with a 2-band preamp instead of a 3-band preamp. It doesn't have Bartolinis either.

No, really, an SRX isn't too bad. I dig mine. That, or a MIM fender jazz.

Just curious, but what's wrong with buying used from someone else? We both live in Texas.

I have a MIM Fender Jazz I will die with. It did not cost 400 dollars either. It plays like it cost a thousand. Play all of them in the store I am sure you will find one you can love.

If you live in Mexico, and you're going to the U.S. like you said in the first post, then it's hard to not go to Texas.
