Lookin for something other than a Fender(already set there). I need something to distort nicely, and have a nice warm clean sound.

Well, I just tried a Peavey Cirrus 4 at the local store, and I have to say, it will be my next bass.

It had a walnut body with a bubinga top.

This bass absolutely kills. Incredible action, fast neck, awesome tone and great looks.

Great basses, but are mostly in the $900-$1000 price range.

I'd say a Fender Marcus Miller, (even though those usually run a little cheaper).

Ive been toying around with a warwick corvette standard 5 string, and a warwick thumb 5 string- both incredible basses. I highly reccomend either one, and you can more than likely find both for below what your lookin for.
