    Whatever YOU THINK IS BEST in that price range.

    There are as many opinions as there are TB'ers.

    +1 on Steveaux, but the Ibanez SR line is great, SX, Sterling by MusicMan. Blah Blah Blah

    Geez. For $800 you can get pretty much anything. You could buy a nice used bass and a bass rig too. And have some money leftover to buy a cool hat to wear on stage!....Having said that, I just paid full price on a new Ric so I shouldn't really be busting anybody's chops. Buy a used USA Fender P or J. You'll still have money for the hat.
