I'm thinking about getting a custom-made ERB. I want to go full range, tuned in thirds for more versatility. Not sure whether I want 13 or 14 strings.

    Conklin the way to go?

Weight's obviously going to be an issue here, so I'm thinking basswood for the body.

    What do you guys think?

Haven't really thought about colour. Probably a sparkle finish all over, including the neck. I want this to look like nothing anyone has seen so far...

Conklin or Adler (I believe that is who made Garry Goodman's 11)

But with your vague post, it really sounds like you are joking.

Tuned in 3rds, wouldn't that actually limit your range, instead of giving the "bass" it's full potential?

If you are joking or making fun of the ERB players that visit TB in any way, please erase this thread.

I'm thinking in terms of a two-handed approach, a bit like Stanley Jordan.

It's vague because I'm just mulling this over for the moment... haven't really thought the details through.

(My GT7 (bolt-on, not the BD model) is tuned in m3rds... easier for lateral runs)

I had the lateral runs once. That Immodium stuff can really save the day.

When I do it on a bass tuned in 4ths, the stretching can really make my hand hurt, particularly my right hand.

Is that like a muscle spray?

if i were you i would consider a warr guitar if you're interested in a two handed tapping approach, either that or a stick.
