I'd have to say $300 for a brand new DeArmond Starfire with Guild gig bag when MF was closing them out.

    How about Alembic Series I serial number 84 for $475? :D :D :D

Oh, what the heck, here's what it looks like AFTER spending some quality time back at Alembic.

  4. Left-handed Fender '62 Jazz RI with 50th anniversary Precision neck: $500

Left-Handed Fender '78 Precision bass (Sunburst) with Maple Fingerboard, Bartolini pickups and BadAss II Bridge: $795

Left-Handed Zon Sonus Custom 5 like new condition: $1200

These buys may not sound great to some of you, but try being left-handed and getting deals like these. Bass manufacturers screw you if you’re lefty. I think I did okay.

  5. '63 P, rosewood, candy apple blue, $100. But that was a while back. Wish I still had it. Got a late-60s J, 3-color sunburst, for $150. A '72 P three-color for around $200. A '68 EB-0 for $130. But this was when they were just used basses, nothing collectible. They came and went. Just recently, I got a maple pearl red MTD Kingston 5 (Kingstons are now coming w/BFTS) from Bass Central for $499 shipped, which I count an fantastic deal. BFTS makes this the first bass I ever owned that was in tune. I think being in tune is amazingly exotic. Can't quit playing it.

I just picked up a MIM Precision with a really funky paint job that fades out in the sun-light for 150$ The paint is supposed to be some dark blue-black? But you can tell where it is sorta faded....

I sold my old Squire Music Master for $350 (more then I paid for it) and it had belt scratches on it... loads of 'em...

But the best deal I got on buying a bass is probably the one I'm getting now, I'm paying $1049 for a Sterling with a hardshell case. The guy's putting it on hold with no money down or anything, and also changing the pickgaurd for me. I HIGHLY suggest www.basscentral.com to anyone.

1965 (pre-CBS) P-bass, mint, with Bassman 50-watt amp and 212 cab, all for $350. That was a good deal even back in '77.

    '96 Fender Roscoe Beck V, mint, $640.

  15. Had a few lately.

Just picked up a Pre-EB Stingray in very good condition for £500, two weeks ago found a mint, as new '96 Shell Pink MIJ '57 re-issue P Bass for £200 and a '74 P bass which I swapped for my old MMan HD 130 amp a couple of months back.

No bargaining at all for these, I gave the asking prices.

I always get ripped-off in the end. However, I am working on a Thumb Bolt-on for $1200 right now. Is that good?

  17. I got a mid-70's Gibson G3 for $100 from someone who didn't want it. Sold it later for $375.. kinda wish I had kept it.. that bass sounded awesome.

Moridira black thing for 120$ when it actually costed 250$ AT THAT TIME. Now it's around 60$ or so i guess... Someone told me they'll buy it. That person said he'll pay weekly 15 dollars each. Then the next day he came to tell he changed his mind. So I gave him back 10 dollars. What happened to the 5 dollars ? I took it... ;)
