What is the best fender 5 strings all arround.
personally, I like the fender precision deluxe 5. The new model.
Fender Roscoe Beck 5 String
I liked it so much that I bought two.
However the Am. Deluxe P is a close second.
One in about 11, or worse (passive MIA 20 fret), Jazz 5's is really nice- I have one of those.
Roscoe Beck V
Another vote for roscoe beck 5. Only fender 5 I have liked so far.
Stingray 5.....Leo's design
RB5 maybe the Reggie Hamilton, never played it though
Hands down the RB-5.
The new FMT V with the SCN pups. Roscoe Beck a close 2nd. Ymmv.
I have owned 3 Roscoe Beck 5's and they are great. I recently bought the new model Precision 5 and it is a great bass for the money. Either one is a good choice. I would love to try the custom shop Reggie Hamilton models.
Hands down the Roscoe Beck 5.
The "best" fender 5 for you is the one you like the best. All of the ones I've played have been quite nice. I'm particularly fond of my passive USA Jazz V.
So far as I've been told by a friend that owns a musicstore specialising in Fenders is that This (mentioned above) is the ONLY fender 5 Str thats worth anything...
According to him, Fender just doesnt build very good 5str basses...
I'm pretty sure Leo only designed the original 4-string StringRay. I could be wrong, though.
The StringRay 5 is a totally different animal.
The best Fender Jazz 5 is either a Reverend BH5...or a G&L 2500...
