I've never been utterly impressed with a single line of Fenders...only basses on a case by case bassis.

I really dig on the American Deluxe P though. That's one hell of a bass!

The only one I have been consistently impressed with is the JP Relic. Every one I have played was at least very good. The one I own is fantastic.

I've been a really big fan of the American Vintage series. I have yet to play a real dog.

From what I've seen/played, Fender's QC has really improved over the last couple of years, and if a store knows how to set up an instrument worth a damn, I find myself pleasantly surprised by most of the Fenders I've played recently.

it's impossible tosay. Fender has instrument for all pockets and levels. and they finally ordered their models in a acceptable way. so it's easier to find the right instrument. but there is no best.
    i have an American.

hey BigBohn :D it's not really my choice I'm addicted to that :D
I'll play with my band in a little show tomorrow, and as soon as I get the pictures of my BTB(400 QM) I'll post them.
  11. I seem to play my 75 Fender Jazz MIJ reissue more than any bass that I have.. So I am going with 75 jazz RI MIJ ..OK!

The FMT is an American Deluxe. That would be my pick of the current lines. Otherwise give me an old Jazz.
  15. American Vintage Series won my recent P bass personal shootout, the 62 reissue strung with a set of D'addario chrome flats is exactly what I was looking for in P bass!

I like the Roscoe Beck model.

I have yet to check the american vintage series, though.
  17. I have a 91 Jazz Deluxe(USA) and it is awsome,It plays very smooth and has active electronics so it really booms. I have had many a chance to sell or trade this baby but I cant it is the most dependable and one of the greatest feeling basses I have played.

The american reissues in general are the most consistant and well made Fenders, imho.

The Jaco Artist fretted and fretless are my favorites when considering Fender's current line.
