Schertler Bass Fidelity 15. I had never even heard of the brand and came across this combo up for sale locally. Tried it and was confident this was going to be my next rig. She's doing real fine at home!

Best gear I purchased in 2022

I got a Fender Rumble 500 in 22. I got the bass in november 21. The amp pairs nicely with my ampeg cab, although I don't think I'll ever need the full power. It's my first amp with a tweeter and 2x 10 inch speakers. It's a world of difference compared to the 15 inch ampeg with no tweeter. The GWB bass has a lot of treble and the tweeter really makes it shine, but I can switch it off for a more mellow fretless sound. The amp is not entirely flat, but some turning of the knobs can get that flat sound out of it.
The whole combo weighs as much as my old head, so that's a win win situation.

By far the best money I've spent was on these 2 items. Got them both around Christmas. I feel like a real bass player now even though my skills says otherwise lol
It's nice to find a smaller combo that works for your needs. They can be the quick & perfect solution for smaller rooms.
I plan on doing the same thing with my Peavey Max208. 2 of them will make for a really nice, 240 watt, 4x8" vertical mini stack that's easy to carry & has a tiny footprint. I also really like the vertical 2x8" format with the speaker baffle angled up 15° towards the player.
Cue my hint for Mesa to start making a VERTICAL 2x8" or 2x10" Subway cab. A pair of those with a D-350 on the top would be just sweet.
I took my one out for a NYE gig in a smallish room but it still kept up with my drummer which tbh, was a bit of a surprise but otoh he isn't a total basher & my guitarist isn't super loud either. A second Max208 will give me some more leeway to go with. Probably about another 4 db. The one running alone was just about out of any more push. Maybe about another 5-10% left at the very most.
Not bad for an amp that I originally bought only for home practice and use. No one is more surprised at my liking for a smaller Peavey combo more than I. Never ever liked them before. Not ever. Nope! Not even once.
I still regularly enjoy running the old Peavey Mark III 4 ohm through a pair of old (late 70's) Traynor BW-2's (yes, the ancient horns and crossovers are disconnected) at my drummers place. It cuts through the mix like a scalpel if I need it to, is a VERY loud 200 watts, and will probably still be working for Keith Richards in another 100 years.
It just keeps on keeping on.

Bought all 4 of these in 2022 expect the first one on the rack. Got it last week.
A friend was selling this Trace Elliot; not much love when I did my research (ranged from "outdated 90's tone" to beware of serviceability...).
When I plugged in, cash fell off my wallet. What a great tone, and all my basses (P, Dano, Warwick, Ric) sounded equally good on it (never experienced this on any other of my amps) with just minor corrections on the graphic equalizer.
Epifani cab is also a 2022 purchase, but TE made me happier...

After selling off most my gear during the pandemic, I rededicated myself to bass late last year and bought this American Professional II P. I installed a set of '62 custom shop pickups, LaBella flats, the covers and pickguard.
I use the chrome cover to anchor with my pinky, a habit from fingerstyle guitar, but I'm trying to convert to floating thumb. The community here is a great resource!
