Best? There is no best. What kind of sound do you like? What is your budget?

Seriously, you can spend more than $10,000 on a head, if you are so inclined, but there is no best.

I like the sound of EBS heads the best. To each their own. There is no 'best'. :)
  4. I know there is no best amp but I'm just curious what your favorite is.

Same answer. I don't have ONE favorite. I have the amp I play through now (Aguilar DB680 and Stewart 2.1), but I'd like an old SVT, a Walter Woods, a Demeter preamp, and a Euphonic Audio combo. Next year, I'll want something else too.

Sometimes I think people start these threads just to see their name in print.

"What's the best blah, blah, blah",
    - or -
"Post pictures of your blah, blah, blah"

... even after there have already been a dozen threads on the same topic.

  9. Vintage SVT although a Hiwatt DR405 with Genelex KT-88's might come close.

Well there was this girl nam.......Oh, you mean bass heads?

I don't know! I'll leave that to the experts. All I own is a Hartke HA3000. And I already know how folks around here feel about Hartkes! :(

I agree, there is no "best"....I currently use a SVT5Pro and it does a great job. I think, however, that ONE of the best going was the old Acoustic 360-370 series amps from the late 60's and 70's. But even it had it's drawbacks....
  12. It's predictable but I have to say early 70's SVT. I've used a number of different heads but nothing compares to my old SVT.
  13. Like tomorrow, the best one never arrives.

The next best one is the one your salivating for today.

You've gotta admit though the best head ever would sound even better with a Tara Labs cable. :D
