best head for Ampeg SVT-810E

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by bass_rookie, Oct 28, 2002.

  1. i just bought an Ampeg SVT-810E cab, and cannot decide on what head to get. either Ampeg or Gallien-Krueger. Any reccommendations? i play in a punk band and i play a Fender standard jazz bass.

  2. Ampeg SVT head (Classic, you know, the big and heavey all tube head). Or a SVT-4pro or 5pro, just find something with a lot of power, and that sounds good to your ears.

I just got an all tube SVT head with an Ampeg 6x10 cab and that combo is currently rocking my face off. I play a MM Stingray 4.

Since you have an SVT 810, you don't mind hauling aroung heavy equipment. I'd Suggest the SVT IIPRO. AWESOME!!!!!!

  5. how would and SVT-350 hold up as opposed to the SVT-CL
