the internet. it took the entire world, and put it at your finger tips. everything, EVER is on the internet somewhere.

I'd have to put fire in first place, followed by the spear. With these two things our ancestors were able to defend themselves from predators, hunt big game, stay up past sunset and get some useful work done by firelight, and stave off disease, parasites, and cold.

The new world had a thriving culture before the white men came, making no practical use of the wheel at all...
