Best Invention

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by labgnat, Jun 15, 2007.

  1. That took me at least a few minutes to stop laughing........

The web sites even funnier, imagine getting paid to make that site.

  2. Best and would DEFINATELY be the screw, not even joking, it's such a brilliant invention and has been for so long. Plus unlike "the wheel" or "fire" it took a lot of thought and hard work and math to create it. It is pretty much the basis of everything mechanical that we use, totally killer.

In the middle, and down just a notch. Between the old dude in the green sweater, and the old ady in the pink sweater. Too easy.

    Do I get a prize? :p

Around 1991, I lived for about half a year in a house without indoor plumbing or electricity (yes, on purpose). It was no big deal to go to the backyard to use the outhouse but I never got comfortable not having electricity. The invention of the electric motor is without a doubt the greatest invention so far, even more so because it works in both directions. If you put electricity through it then the shaft turns and you can get useful work out of it, but if you hook the shaft up to any source of energy (steam, moving water, wind, internal combustion engine) you get electricity out.

    Hammer, hands down!

Works for everything: Hunting (just as long as it's a slow animal), mating (can't turn that pick-up line down :)), repairs of malfunctioning devices (give it a good whack), building houses. You name it, a hammer is always useful.
