Best kept secret

  1. Has anyone out there used the DBX Spectral Enhancer in their bass rig? I have one in my rig and this unit really helps accentuates my sound. Bassically, it is similar to the BBE Sonic Maximizer but unlike the BBE, the DBX does not color your sound. The lows become fatter and it adds clarity in the high end. I have not seen anyone else use this unit in a bass rig. I initially purchased the DBX for recording mix downs and it was curiousity that led me to this discovery.

Um, sounds like it colours the sound to me.
  3. The best desciption of the DBX is this, the natural EQ of the bass is enhanced but the tonality remains intact. The BBE has a real artificial coloration. If you have the ability to A/B a DBX Spectral Enhancer and a BBE Sonic Maximizer then perhaps you'll understand.
