  1. Well, now that early days is well on its way to finding the winners, i decided to go ahead and post the best of the late Led Zeppelin. The top 5 from this list and the other will then be in a poll together to get the best Zeppelin song EVER!!! well, at least to us bassists :smug: let the voting begin!

My gut instinct says either The Ocean, or No Quarter...

But, I vote for Trampled Under Foot ... It's always been overlooked.

  3. dern, knew i was forgetting one...too bad i can't edit

live version of that is reeally good

I'd also put "Nobody's Fault But Mine" way up at the top. And here's just a few more to consider.
    In The Light
    For Your Life
    Fool In the Rain

IMHO Presence is a very ignored and underrated album. It's reputation as being throwaway and quick is possibly valid -- but its strong points extend beyond "Achilles..."

    I completely agree w/ SuperMonkey...

  6. gah, theres too many great ones; it was hard to limit myself to just 12.

I agree about In the Light, but the other three i thought were good, but not good enought for the cut. Yall can reply with the songs that should be #1 on this, and ill include it in the final poll, if theres enough

too many faces, too many moods.... too many great ones

    "In the Light"
    "Achilles Last Stand"
    "For Your Life"
    "No Quarter"

I had the lyrics for "Rain Song" taped to the inside of my locker in High School through High School.

Upon us all a little rain must fall

BTW: I owned them all on Vinyl, most on cassette (other then the recordings from vinyl to cassette)...

Presence is my only CD besides the Box set :bassist:
and it's nobody's fault but mine

hehe, I did too... Until I sold off all my vinyl... I replaced it w/ a box set, but its kinda annoying not having them grouped by album. Plus, there's tracks missing, & THAT pisses me off, too...!

  10. cough cough
you mean nobodys fault but mine

The absolute greatest Zep song , if i had to choose one is " Over the Hills and Far Away" , not just of the latter days, of all the damn days. That song can always blow me away.

As much as I love the others, I gotta say "Achilles Last Stand". That song (besides Stairway, of course) got me into Zeppelin in the first place!

I was going to put it in the poll, but i didn't think it would be popular enough
