What do you guys think the best looking color/pick guard/fingerboard combo is?

    My personal belief:
    3-color sunburst/red tortoise shell/rosewood fingerboard

IF you are talking only painted basses, my hands down fav is Olymic white with a red tortiose guard. Rosewood board.

    Like this one:

And, they look even better as the yellow out a bit.

  4. Agreed. I've got a P-bass just like that. It's nice.

Of course these are just Japanese ones but the American ones don't come with red tort (and the MIA's are much pricier).

Okay, so the olympic white/red shell is good looking but lets contrast and compare to this

  10. i reallyy liek the black pg on a black body, its a cool look, i also dig the midnight wine finish. Not too big a fan of the sunburst, could someone explain the difference between a 2-color sunburst and 3- color sunburst...any way heres a vintage precision in a cool color, its on Ebay right now as well.....

I like mine the best, of course. :D Arctic white/tortoise shell would be my second choice, though.

If you look at the attachment in one of the posts above, you'll see how the color is orangey in the middle, and fades to bright red/orange, and then black. That's a 3-color burst, while a 2-color goes straight from black to the middle color.

I do think the thunderbird looks great...

  16. My vote goes to a candy apple red Jazz bass, with chrome hardware, bound neck with block inlays. Not far behind is a sweet orange-burst type color I saw on a MM Stingray on bassnw.com. I seem to remember cherry burst as the color?

Those Olympic white basses do look really nice, btw. And I believe it's Jeff Rader, who has an exceptional looking Sadowsky in sunburst.
