Mmmmm, pretty hot. IIRC, it costs $30,000.

That was an applied value-the actual cost of it would have been far, far less.

personally I don't like it, I think it's too much in a non tasteful way (especially compared to some other melted tops)

Wow. That's just nuts! :) I like the body, but think the fingerboard's a little busy looking -- I'd like to see it clear on the headstock and end of the neck, just to kind of balance with the nice clear spot on the upper body.

It's definitely amazing, but I agree that it's a little busy, and I don't like the body style too much.

That's amazing... Funkize, you have good taste in basses! :D

I remember seeing that exact bass in my 2005 guitar/bass buyers guide and thinking "wow... I want one just like that!" :hyper:

  11. That F bass in my opinion beats the conklin. The conklin is to over the top, and i dont realy like the body shape either. That F bass is beautiful

Yea, those are all great looking basses, but IMO the game was over once Ken came up with this design.

That wood grain just blend so well, so organically with the bass...
    Marvelous!

Unfortunately the Jerzy Drozd site is somehow stuck (the page comes in, but none of the sub-pages, including the gallery), but, to me, those look fabulous, too.

Who sais they're furnature. These guys make some of the nicest and most playable instruments out there. Just because they look nice doesn't mean they don't get played.

  18. that bass is beautiful.

i dunno how well id handle playing a fretboard like that. but damn.
that bass IMO is the most beautiful conklin ever.

id love to know the actual cost that the buyer paid. not the number on the conklin site. because id love to have one like that built one day.

I dont have a pic handy, and I think its a 7, not a 6, but Bassius has an awesome blue-green fretless conklin that I think is gorgeous :)
