I know a p-bass is more for punk, but I didn't know what I was doing when I was purchasing my bass.

I'm using the stock MIM J-Pup which I don't like. I'm looking for the punchiest pick ups I can find, or just a good punk pick-up? I've heard the J 123's were good for punch, but should I look into anything else? I've just aquired some cash to actually buy a pair, I've gotten around $160 to spend.
  2. Punchy to me says Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders. They make those for Jazz basses. They have bass and treble clank to them. Probably around $100 for a set.

I second that. Quater pounders go very well with punk IMO.

Dosn't Blink 182's Bassist use SDs? I HATE his tone :/
  5. He uses the 1/4 pound for P-bass pickup. Different animal there.
