so? What is, in your opinion, the best stingray-type pickup?

Does Duncan make a 5-string model? My Cort is missing some Stingray oomph, and a new pup may be in order.

Yes they do. They also make a special order three coil version for more advanced coil splitting functions.

As to my own experiences - I really liked the Basslines Alnico 4.

The Lane Poor is the best I've had experience with however.
  6. I've got a bass I built with a SD alnico 4 and the SD musicman preamp, and it is by far the best sounding bass I have ever played. But keep in mind that the only other high end basses I have played are fenders and G&Ls because thats all the stores in my city sell.

I'm very happy with the stock pickup :)

I have no doubt about that.. however, it's for a warmoth project bass, so it's kinda out of the question.
  9. Does anyone here have anyexperience of the Status MM style pickup? I'm considering getting one to go on my MTD Kingston 4 but don't know how much of a difference it would make.
