First you need to read through the forum and get a feel for what's out there. Then you'll be able to ask a question that has some merit.

wow.. please advise if I've reframed the question which has more "merit"

I'm looking to install an add-on preamp to a passive bass with vintage style PJ Fralin pups, vol/vol/ bass/treble.
I'm curious if there is much difference in something like the Sadowsky and JZ3 and Aguilar preamps?

today on board preamps are all "the best"… it all depends what do you want and what do you like….

    Sadowsky
    Bartolini
    Aguilar
    East
    Nordstrand
    …..

All are great, but each one somewhat different….

Here on TB you can find tons of material to read, do a search.

I'll add EMG and Basslines Blackouts to the list for preamps. Theyre my fave aftermarket ones.
