Hi! I just recently bought a Cort GB75 and am planning on upgrading the pickups & preamp. Any recommendations on the best pickup & preamps? Thanks!

There is a lack of sustain and could use a little more punch and headroom.

go cheap. go EMG. go 18v. plenty of punch and headroom, shouldnt break the bank.

I'd go Seymour Duncan BassLines: they work fine with that preamp.

I once did that myself with a former GB74 of mine

But I hear that SD Basslines are too trebly. Is this true? I'm looking for a more round and punchy sound.

and you sure know GB75 is ash, so relatively brilliant, isn't that
    right?

yes, except that that preamp is so warm and "round" to easily accomodate Duncan BassLines frequencies

Of course, if still you'd go "deeper", go Bartolini "deep" option

    Cheers,
    Wallace
