Any opinions on the best pipe for studio bass playing? Duck Dunn apparently favored the "Straight Apple" model, while occasionally smoking an "Aristocob." How about TB players? Ever had a studio engineer or producer suggest or demand a specific pipe?
I surmise pipe-smoking died in the sixties as a general trend among the young in the sixtes? Around the same time as hats, perhaps? I think it’s less about the vessel and more about the contents thereof. I’ve heard there are blends that actually expand the creative enzymes in the brain, or some such complicated medical stuff that gives me a headache every time i try to think about all that creative enzyme expansion and those willing to risk the potential hazard of expanding their brain beyond the physical limits of it’s natural protective enclosure. I guess that’s where the old expression about blowing one’s mind originated, Or they just read too much Castaneda.
