Just got this back from Kevin! He made this already cook bass into an amazing one.

For those curious, the neck is a real-deal Fender Custom Shop. The body is a custom ordered USA made All-Parts and the electronics are EMG (Bottom row = vol/vol/tone and top row is treb/bass/mid,mid freq stack). Is the EQ always engaged or can you switch from Tone to EQ and back?

That route is tight enough to go w/o a pickguard, but at least you can still see the killer finish under it.

Always on but if I set the treb, mid and bass flat, I can just use the vol vol tone controls on the bottom like a standard Jazz

That is a beautiful bass, and that is a whole lot of knobs!

I know that I already commented on this bass but I was just looking at it again and I don't think that I have ever seen a more beautiful bass.

Looks like a completely different bass!

  13. That's a real beauty! The only thing I'd do different is add smaller color matched wood knobs so the top doesn't look so busy. Play the heck out of that lil' Darlin!

Ultra sweet. Double thumbs up on the clear acrylic scratch plate.

The holes were already in the body from a different scratch plate prior to the refin. Kevin Brubaker said he could fill them but chances are that they would show so I opted for leaving the holes and just buying a clear plate.

Depending on the OP's playing style, the pg might actually protect the finish, rather than just being an accessory. I'd protect that finish too!

That refin really pops the quilt so much better on that top! I also see, Quad, you did not go tin-a$$ on that bridge!! That must really hit your "enthused button" to play it. do not suppose you'll let me have it for a month or six to break it in for you under it's new persona?

Now pardon me while I go into my garage and cuss because it is not mine. :)

Wow, that is a great finish. Is it a Brubender? Fendaker?
