I currently have a Dean Edge 5-string bass, strung E-C, instead of the normal B-G. Right now I have D'Addario's on it, they are starting to lose their brightness which is good since I want the warm feel. But they are starting to sound rather "muddy". Time to replace. But since I have to by the highest string (tuned to a C) separately I would like to get all of the same type of string of course. I have two .35 gauge "C" strings left but they are D'Addarios. I would like to get something with a warmer, deeper, but tight tone. what would you all recommend? I'm thinking of trying flatwounds.
