What kind of roundwound strings make a Jazz Bass sound like a Jazz Bass?

Well I have two 70's jazz basses and I usually run D'Addario XL's or Ernie Ball Regular Slinky's on them and they both have great J tone.
I also have run Elixers and they are nice but expensive.

Someone was talking about some strings that were flatwound over the fretboard and roundwound over the PU's. Does anyone know what brand these are??Where they can be purchased? They sound like a good idea.

Either Thomastik Jazz flats, or Fender 9050ML's. I've used both on my MIM Jazz (I currently use the TI's, as I like them just a bit better.)But both sound great IMHO.
If you like to slap though, nickel roundwounds. Although the TI's don't sound bad for that at all.
