Best strings for slap and pop

  1. I need something that give a "good, tight" tone with the slap and a "crisp, detailed" pop for my 35" scale stiletto studio

    I was thinking Peavey strings but someone recommend some Dr strings or something. What do you recommend?
  2. My favorite slap strings:

    - DR Hi-Beams
    - Rotosound Swing Bass RS66s

    Both are stainless steel. I absolutely do NOT like the sound of nickel strings in slap/pop, unless you've got a maple fingerboard.

    New strings - just make sure it's new strings so you get the response that makes it easier to slap and pop. As for different brands - I really don't know - when it comes down to it, it's a matter of taste. :)

  5. With those Hi Beams I see different ones in heavy, lite, medium lite, medium. I would need some for a 5 string

    I'm using Ken smith 35's... They seem consistant enough.

    Fellow DR Lo riders SS users, how long do you usually go before changing them? Im at 2 months on my current set and they are still going strong.
