What is the ebst tube preamp bass guitar combo for under 1000... or better, for under 700 $
You are looking for an all-tube bass combo amp (which is what I think you are asking about), then I would say try to find a Trace Elliot Twin Valve Combo. It is a 100w 1x15, and it sounds great. They are no longer made, but you should be able to find one in that price range (when/if they do come up).
For new products, believe it or not the Pignose B-100V is a pretty nice little amp (also a 1x15 100w all-tube combo), and it can be found for under $500.
Hope this helps, Tom.
If you're looking for a hybrid, the Yorkville XS400H is probably going to be your best bet.
You'll have to buy used to get to that pricepoint with either of these two, but both are very good:
SWR Super Redhead
Two fairly different flavors, with the SWR being a little thinner and more hifi, and the Eden being a little (well, maybe a lot) thicker, but still clean power.
Then, there's the swr baby blue 2x8...really nice combo, tho not particularly loud.
Ah, yes, maybe he is asking for a hybrid (tube(s) in the pre, solid state power) combo amp. Well, I'd add the Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout to the list, then.
walkabout Scout: yeah, nice rig. I'm not a huge fan of that particular speaker, but the head (if that's your flavor-and it's not mine-a little too gritty for me) is really nice.
Genz-Benz NEOX-112T. It has a switchable and mixable ss/tube pre and a ss power.
Price of Genz benz? and a link pls!
I paid just under a grand. Musicians friend and Music123 both have them listed over $1,100.
What about the Ampeb B200R, goes for $650.
I haven't tried one, but it should be good if it's anything like the B100R.
I like my B100R lots...I've pinged here about B200R a couple of times, with no response from users yet...
That will go for a little under your price.
I second the opinion for a SWR Baby Blue II (2x8") combo.
I got one and it sounds incredible. Not very loud but I can simply go into the house PA for that. They're not exactly easy to find though.
Eden Nemesis 410 320w combo, just ordered mine today for 800 dollars Canadian brand new.
-The head is removable
-Under 70lbs total
Sounds great, is portable, versatile, and meets what you want.
Duh! How'd I forget that one! And I even own two of them!
They are not stupid loud, but man do they sound good!
What are you looking for in terms of wattage and speaker configuration?
Do you mind my asking where you found that price?
I am looking for an 2x10" 100-250 W combo, or head + cab
