What do you guys think the best sounding warwick for hard rock is?
Streamer LX or Stage 2
stage 1 sucks
I think I'd also vote the Streamer LX too. The only catch is, it doesn't look like a hard rock bass to me.
I'm going with the NT Thumb. That thing has a ton of midrange available.
I've got a 1998 Stage I with Basslines pickups. I use it with my hard rock band because of the nasty (in a good way) growl. My bandmates like it too.
Thumb, hands down.
Man...that was one of the worst puns I've had in weeks...
SS2 is the best warwick for everything.
or at least, i think so
I liked the Fortress One best......but they don't make it.....so thumb is the next best I suppose.
What makes you say Stage I sucks? Have you ever tried it with a band? You can't prove that.. I've OWNED a Stage I and with my band, it had LOTS of lower midrange and great tone
That's it! The poster did specify hard rock, eh?
What IS that Warwick. I've never seen that before.
Anyway,my vote is for the Thumb 5 Bolt On. As a matter of fact,I'll sell you mine!
I didn't vote because all of them will do it. I now own a Thumb 4 neck through and a Streamer Stage II 4 and they are both tone monsters, the next Warwick I will be getting is a Streamer Stage I.
I would vote for the Thumb NT and SSII. Both are killer basses.
I believe it's a Vampyre.
Thumb Bolt On Cheaper more agressive sounding and Punchier! I find the neck through is a beauty but I find it slightly smoother sounding. my 2cents.
agree with the last post about the thumb bolt on.
i have right now the NT and the bolt one have a lot more punch. i will change the pick ups and preamp for EMG`s or basslines to get that punch
then it would sound better than all of the basses in the world!
