Best way to go MIDI?

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by steamboat, Oct 17, 2002.

  1. I'm pretty inexperienced with this topic and I'd like to know what some good options are. Any personal experiences or websites I can goto read up on stuff are welcomed.

I have two basses, a fretless Stingray 5 and a peavey fury 4 string.. I'm not sure which one I want to equip with MIDI yet.. I guess I want to see what's out there for MIDI setups first.

I don't think I have room for a third bass.. but if anyone knows a really good production bass equipped with MIDI I suppose could sell my crappy guitar that I hardly play :)

Peavey Midibase might be good if you can find one. The other option is the yamaha B1D Pickup and G50 Guitar MIDI Converter.

    Hmm they're under 700USD, should I invest...?
  3. Oh, about external midi modules.. I'm not sure if I'll have too much use for one.. I'll pretty much be going straight into the midi input jack on my soundblaster live drive
