    hi folks,
i own an active American Deluxe V 2004. i am very happy with the bass, but lately i am experimenting with fuzzes and overdrives a lot, and those usually don´t like active signals (they sound harsh/fizzy and overpower the input stages of many fuzzes).

so my question is: is there a way to add an active/passive switch ? i´m happy with the electronics, so i want to keep them.

i know there is a trick with a 1:1 mouser transformer in front of the effect (homewrecker.com - bazz fuzz), but i really want the active/passive switching option.

    any ideas ???

    cheers,

well, in spite of the huge load of answers to this post, i did it.
i installed a dpdt switch and connected it with the ins and outs of the active electronics. the volume control doesn´t work in passive mode this way, but it´s a start and the fuzzes sound a lot better now.

    cheers,
