I have a new Fender Jazz (Geddy Lee) and one thing I don't like is the sloppy way they finished the neck. Bottom line, does anybody have ideas for removing (scraping?) lacquer off of frets without damaging the finish of the fretboard wood? I'm thinking razor blade or exacto-knife.

    Thanks

I've always heard to score the edge of the fret with a single-edged razor blade or X-acto, then scrape the lacquer off with your fingernail.
